This month meet Maru Trevizo, PHR, SHRM-CP. She is a long-time PIHRA member and volunteer leader. Currently, she is the Chair of the PIHRA Inland Valley<\/a> chapter. Maru works for Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) as the Vice President of Human Resources. Let’s learn more about her.<\/p>\n I\u2019m thinking approximately 10 years or more.<\/p>\n I thought it would be great to be in a position where I can help people, coach, and develop them as well as influence the business.<\/p>\n I worked at a company that eventually had to close multiple facilities, layoffs are not fun at all.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve been in positions where I had the ability to influence the business and shape the organization to provide a great work environment, develop and retain talent.<\/p>\n I would love to have the time to get and MBA in organizational development and leadership.<\/p>\n Being part of PIHRA has a made a huge, difference in my professional career. I was able to find mentors that helped me throughout my career, I was able to keep up to date with new laws and best practices with the CA HR conference and the legal updates. I found great friendships and amazing colleagues to learn from.<\/p>\n Networking, continuous learning and resources to do my job.<\/p>\n Once again, thank you for being part of the PIHRA community!
