#RealHR OC Panelist Testimonial

The PIHRA #RealHR-OC event, Don’t Fear the Deep End of the Talent Pool, exceeded my expectations as a panelist. As an HR professional, I will be the first to admit that it has been difficult to advocate for applicants that do not meet what some consider standard role requirements. I have been challenged throughout my career to think outside of the box and to recognize any biases that may create obstacles for diverse applicants that have unusual circumstances.

During the event, I was proud to see a standing room only room full of fellow HR professionals willing to tackle stigmas and societal norms that have created barriers for applicants deserving a second chance. The positive response from my Orange County HR colleagues and their willingness to get real talent back to work reminded me of why I became an HR professional. Thank you again PIHRA for providing a platform to discuss such a bold topic!
