Managing the Unmanageable - How to Manage Difficult Employees While Minimizing Litigation Risks


Have you met “Slow Sarah”, “Cathy the Complainer”, “Daniel the Do-Gooder” or “Thomas the Tattle-tale”? These seemingly dedicated employees can often create conflict and discord within the workplace. With so many legally “protected categories” it often seems impossible to properly manage the problem employee within the confines of the law while at the same time focus-ing on the business needs of the company.

This seminar will provide the Human Resources Professional with practical tips in appropriately handling difficult employees with an eye towards litigation avoidance and company harmony.



Nicole Minkow, Pearlman, Borska & Wax


Nicole Minkow is Senior Employment Counsel at Pearlman, Borska & Wax and is Chair of the firm's Employment Law Department. Nicole specializes in handling all aspects of employment defense litigation on behalf of employers and management. Nicole's experience includes cases involving claims for wage and hour violations under state and federal law, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, defamation, fraud and unfair business practices. She also assists employers in defending against wage and hour class actions regarding alleged overtime violations, meal and break violations, and minimum wage claims. In addition, Nicole drafts employee policies, including employee handbooks and keeps her clients updated on new employment law developments.

Cancellation Policy

There will be a 50% administration fee for any cancellations. If you need to cancel, we must receive it in writing (email or fax) 2 business days prior to the event during normal business hours. Refunds will not be given to no-shows. Credits will not be issued for use towards future PIHRA events.
