Mentoring and Coaching Leaders to Act Like a CEO


What do Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison, and Don Draper have in common? Executive presence. This program outlines the components of executive presence and provides practical activities and resources to help you mentor or coach your leadership team so that they may obtain the gravitas required to effectively influence and lead others.

By the end of the session you’ll learn:

  1. How to develop your leadership team’s awareness of the need for executive presence, demonstrating that they are always in the spotlight and the impact this role has on employee trust, engagement and productivity.
  2. How to mentor or coach your management team in acquiring the three key attributes of executive presence.
  3. How to apply a personal branding exercise as part of your mentoring/coaching process to develop authentic leaders who understand that they must first “be” before they can “do”.
  4. Techniques to help your leaders manage stress so that they can provide a consistent behavioral style that builds credibility and moves the organization forward.
  5. How to apply presentation resources to help your leaders influence their teams, peers, and boards.
  6. How to help your leaders modify their tone of voice, pace, and inflection to sustain interest and achieve greater employee/audience interest and engagement.

Dr. N. Elizabeth Fried

Dr. N. Elizabeth Fried, author, consultant, and executive coach, has been president of N. E. Fried and Associates, Inc. since 1983 and was named by the San Diego Business Journal among the top 12 Executive Training Firms. Ranked by in 2012 for three years running as one of world’s top 15 most influential coaches in the world, she has contributed chapters to Coaching for Success (2009) and Extreme Excellence (2008) as well as authored two books focused on human resources. Fried received her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and served two terms as the president of the San Diego Professional Coaches Alliance. A vibrant and informative speaker, she regularly addresses audiences on executive development issues. From 1983 to 2001, Fried conducted compensation research on a national scale and was quoted widely in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, U.S. News and World Report, Ms., Business Week, and Fortune Magazine.

Cancellation Policy 

There will be a 50% administration fee for any cancellation. If you need to cancel, we must receive it in writing (email or fax) 2 business days prior to an event during normal business hours. Refunds will not be given to no-shows. Credits will not be issued for use towards future PIHRA events.
