Women Changing the Face of Leadership: 3 Strategies to Meet the New Business Revolution

Owning a competitive advantage today calls for new strategies.

The pace of change is quickening, and many once-rock-solid companies have been swallowed up as they attempt to meet new demands with strategies that don’t work. Doing business and doing it well requires staying abreast of a multitude of trends and developments so that products and services are relevant, the costs of delivery are reduced while elevating their quality; and the talents of a reduced workforce are maximized to produce at highest capacity.

Organizational models are shifting from hierarchical to more democratic, and high performance through team is emphasized. Downsizing continues, but workloads continue to grow heavier. At the same time, employees are required to meet not only organizational goals, but also government regulations and other activities that get in the way of producing income. Cries of “working smarter and not harder” and “doing more with less” aren’t working. Performance is rewarded as an attempt to encourage more productivity, but this is proving ineffective. High turnover continues with companies often losing their star performers to competitors.

Come and learn how to capture “the other half” of a winning equation. In this information-packed session, Patti will make the business case for elevating the “female factor” – improving financial performance without adding any additional workforce or organizational changes:

  • Three strategies companies can take right now to tap into more potential for additional ROI in its human capital
  • Removing obstacles on the path to female senior leadership
  • How to help women on the individual, team, and organizational levels to own their leadership ambition and take charge of their career track

Patti Cotton

Patti Cotton possesses more than 25 years of leadership both stateside and abroad, in the worlds of diplomatic relations, corporate for-profit and non-profit worlds. She has been a student of leadership skills all her life. “I’ve walked in the shoes of those I counsel,” she says. “I have overcome seemingly impossible obstacles to move toward my goals. I built on those skills through formal education and now bring them to leaders who want to step into ever greater roles as thought leaders and game-changers.” She leveraged those skills into big tasks. “I have worked with heads of state and corporations around the world. At one point, I was in charge of raising millions for five hospitals,” she says. “I got to the point where I could ask for three million and get it in 30 seconds.” She shares riveting personal stories with her audiences as she inspires, motivates, and educates.

Patti’s formal education includes a master’s of science degree in organizational management and development, and in English literature. She holds credentials as a professional certified coach with the International Coach Federation. In addition, Patti is certified in Harvard University’s Immunity to Change methodology, conflict resolution in the workplace through Kenneth Cloke, and mediation through La Sierra University’s Center for Conflict Resolution. Her client roster includes Bank of America, Boeing, Coca-Cola, Harvard University, Sysco, Edward Jones, Morgan Stanley, Girl Scouts of America, and more.
