EMPATHY: Your Next Superpower
presented by Peggy O'Neill
Most leaders nowadays are aware that empathy is an essential ingredient in effective interaction with their workers, and, that it undoubtedly nurtures trust, loyalty, honesty and cooperation.
But many leaders struggle with knowing how to summon up this unseen, unfamiliar and somewhat mysterious entity called “empathy”. Certainly, no one learned it in school. So, how do we pull this rabbit out of the hat? The same way we learn anything new- through attentive focus, taking in information, and then: practice, apply, and practice some more.
In this interactive workshop, we’ll roll-up our sleeves and do just that- focus, learn, and practice. Peggy will provide effective stories, tools, techniques and exercises that will demystify and shed light on empathy— what it is, how it works, and how you can strengthen your empathy muscle. And most importantly, give you experience so you will feel more skilled and at ease using this powerful communication and connection tool.
YOU’LL LEARN TO:
- Listen with whole-hearted presence so others feel heard and seen
- Consider what it’s like to walk in the shoes of another
- Develop the skill of understanding other’s perspectives and feelings
- Use that understanding to guide your actions, so your relationships grow with ease
- Connect authentically with others so you can enjoy-- and effectively work through difficulties
Bottom line - our time together will help develop empathy into your next superpower!
