To an extent engaged employees are happy employees. Our United States Declaration of Independence states the we have an unalienable right to "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Yet, even when we move heaven and earth to achieve our goals, we’re not always happy. There’re numerous reasons our employees aren’t happy—some are personal, some are job related. Some, we in HR can assist with, some we cannot.
Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky suggests we can work at being happy in a planned concerted manner. She maintains that happiness is just around the corner. Her book is rich with examples of mood-lifting techniques. With our personal commitment to change, we can create a full and abundant life for ourselves. More and more we are calling in executive coaches and psychologists to help us with employees who simply are not happy and are taking it out on others. The How of Happiness offers ideas that are backed up by her scientific research, that work! Join us and learn the key lessons to our unalienable right to pursue happiness with joy and vigor.
