He will discuss about the issues related to the Aging Workforce which have emerged as a significant focus in recent years.

According to a recent report published by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, there was a 63% increase between 2008 and 2018 in people age 65 and older still working. This fast-paced, engaging, and easy-to-understand presentation will be valuable whether you are actively dealing with employees about these issues on a regular basis, or simply want to learn more about Social Security & Medicare.

Thomas Wright spent over 30 years as an employee benefits advisor and speaks to HR audiences around the country on this important and timely topic.

Tom Wright, founder of the Turning 65 Workshop spent 35 years in financial services, and is known for his ability to communicate complex, confusing information in ways regular people understand.

Tom began his financial services career in 1980 with John Hancock.
He opened an independent benefits brokerage and consulting office in 1984 which he continued until “semi-retiring” in 2016. He then created the Turning 65 Workshop ( to provide much-needed Social Security & Medicare learning programs for the workplace, as well as continuing education for professional groups.

He attended the University of New Hampshire and has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College of Financial Services in Bryn Mawr, PA. For many years he was a Continuing Ed instructor for the Maine Insurance Agents Association.

He’s been quoted on various employee benefit topics by media outlets including; Kiplinger’s and Fortune magazines, The Boston Globe,
and the Maine Matters television program. He’s also been featured
on the HR Power Hour radio show.

Tom also serves on the Board of Directors of Way of Life Mission in Portland, Maine, which provides assistance to newly settled immigrants.

Cancellation Policy

There will be a 50% administration fee for any cancellation. If you need to cancel, we must receive it in writing (email or fax) 2 business days prior to an event during normal business hours. Refunds will not be given to no-shows. Credits will not be issued for use towards future PIHRA events.
