Come join us as we explore:

  • Identification of policies required under California state and federal law, including discussion on recent changes to the requirements
  • Discussion on specific language for policies against harassment, wage-hour, social network and drug/alcohol policies in California
  • Education on how to analyze handbooks to determine whether an update is necessary and where deficiencies in handbook language exists

Lonnie Giamela, Fisher & Phillips LLP

Lonnie Giamela is a partner in both the Los Angeles and Irvine offices of Fisher & Phillips LLP. His practice is focused on being a “one-stop shop” for businesses of all sizes to address their labor and employment law needs.

Lonnie’s subject matter expertise ranges from fair employment matters to leave management, ERISA litigation, wage and hour compliance, payroll tax audits, mass layoff strategy, management training and litigating matters before the NLRB. Lonnie has extensive experience representing local, regional and national clients in class action wage-hour lawsuits as well as representative lawsuits brought under PAGA.

Utilizing experiences from his family’s restaurants in the San Fernando Valley, Lonnie also provides preventive advice to the companies he represents. His prior business experience assists in finding practical, compliant legal solutions to clients’ everyday employee relations issues.

Cancellation Policy

There will be a 50% administration fee for any cancellations. If you need to cancel, we must receive it in writing (email or fax) 2 business days prior to the event during normal business hours. Refunds will not be given to no-shows. Credits will not be issued for use towards future PIHRA events.
