Professionals In Human Resources Association Wins Pinnacle Award from
SHRM for Exceptional Young Professionals in HR Program
Los Angeles, California - February 16, 2016 - Professionals In Human Resources Association (PIHRA) won the Pinnacle Award at the end of 2015, given by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) to its state councils and chapters for highly notable contributions to the HR profession.
Created in 1991, the Pinnacle Award is the highest achievement SHRM state councils and chapters can attain, and it honors programs that exceed the standard activities of SHRM affiliates in enhancing the creation of effective HR management. PIHRA was one of 12 human resource organizations from nine states across the country to win the award.
“The launch of this program was a labor of love for all involved so it's unbelievably exciting to have our efforts recognized by SHRM,” says Andrea Moroso, the VP of Membership Development for PIHRA. “We are extremely proud of the PIHRA team, and appreciate the opportunity to showcase this program nationally.”
The PIHRA Young Professionals program is designed to provide the next generation of HR Leaders with a unique space to build relationships within their own community, to develop a network with more seasoned HR professionals, and to provide them with the tools and visibility necessary to become successful change agents in the field.
Winning programs selected from nearly 90 applications received a $1,000 prize, given by Paychex Inc., which is the sponsor of this year’s Pinnacle Awards. The award was given at SHRM’s annual Volunteer Leaders’ Summit in Washington, D.C., which was attended by several members of PIHRA board and management team.
“This year’s Pinnacle Award winners have demonstrated exceptional leadership through their innovative programs,” said Henry G. “Hank” Jackson, president and CEO of SHRM. “Their projects also offer practical solutions to business challenges facing companies today.”
