Annual Membership Dues: New membership is $150 for 12 months (including the month that you join), with renewals for current memberships at $125 annually.
Student Membership Dues: $30 annually with proof of student status (check your eligibility here).

PIHRA membership is open to individuals engaged in a professional, educational or consulting capacity within the profession of Human Resources.
General Members: Individuals who do not meet the requirements below. Contact the Membership Department to change your member type, if you joined prior to June 2014 and meet the criteria below.
Professional Members: Individuals who are engaged or have been engaged in the field or profession of human resource management and who meet one of the following criteria: 1. Possess at least three years of exempt-level human resource management experience. 2. Are certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute. 3. Are faculty members holding assistant, associate, adjunct professor, instructor or full professorial rank in human resource management or any of its specialized functions at an accredited college or university and have at least three years of experience at this level of teaching. 4. Are full-time consultants with at least three years experience as a practitioner in human resource management. 5. Are attorneys licensed to practice in California and who have practiced management employment or labor law for at least three (3) years.

Current Member Renewal fee is $125 annually. If your membership lapses and expires, the cost to be reinstated is $150.00, and the membership will last 12 months (including the month that you rejoin).
PIHRA Student Member applicants must:
- view full eligibility requirements before applying
- be degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students attending an accredited college or university
- be enrolled in a minimum of 8 units under the quarter system or 6 units under the semester system
- submit a class schedule for the current semester/quarter with signed approval by the student faculty advisor or appropriate department chair
- not be working more than 20 hours per week
- return the completed student membership application and printed class schedule with name on it, and payment of $30 to PIHRA home office

Designate PIHRA as your local SHRM Chapter!
Are you a SHRM member? Did you know that if you designate PIHRA as your local chapter, a portion of your SHRM annual dues are redirected back to PIHRA? These funds are then used to support PIHRA member benefits and events in your local area. What a great way to give back to your HR community. These events provide ways for you to network with your community of HR peers, develop your HR expertise, and earn re-certification credits. To designate PIHRA as your local chapter, please return the completed Primary Chapter Designation Form to PIHRA's Membership Department, or submit the NEW Electronic Form: PIHRA is Chapter # 0030.

Membership is on an individual basis and renews on the anniversary date. We do not have corporate memberships at this time.
Portability Statement: Membership in PIHRA is portable which means that if you change employers during the membership year, your PIHRA membership goes with you. PIHRA Membership is individual and cannot be transferred to another person. Once membership dues are paid they cannot be refunded or credited toward future programs or services.
- Membership in PIHRA is individual, not organizational. Your PIHRA membership is personal and fully portable should you change employment.
- Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable.
- Membership will expire one year from creation or renewal on the anniversary date.
