After nearly a year of planning and organization, the newest student chapter of the PIHRA family is up and running at California Lutheran University!
Cal Lutheran is a private, liberals arts university located in Thousand Oaks, CA. The new chapter was initiated by Vlad Vaiman, PhD, Associate Dean, Professor of International Management. The majority of members are graduate students, and many of the members also attend PIHRA Ventura County meetings despite the official PIHRA Woodland Hills sponsorship.
Founding Director Maria Godinez said this about the new chapter:
We are exited as students and alumni, to contribute and collaborate with professionals in the community. We believe that the relationships we build will make us all stronger, and continue to inspire us to be the best we can be. No matter the professional level we are currently at, we all have something we can offer and learn from each other. PIHRA Cal Lutheran gives us the opportunities to connect, learn, and ultimately optimize our profession.
Loredana Carson, the chapter's Faculty Sponsor, said, "The students worked hard to get the group off the ground and have already exhibited excellent leadership capability by seeing the project through to the goal of being featured on the PIHRA website. We look forward to having an active chapter and to our involvement with the PIHRA community at large."
If you'd like to meet the group, they have an event coming up. Here are the details:
