Diversity: Down Hill Slope, Uphill Climb

Socio-political challenges to the importance of diversity in U.S. culture have made the discussion of diversity more important than ever. Human Resources professionals must balance these challenges with the need to continue to promote diversity. As a result, HR professionals will need to engage in difficult discussions at every level of the organizations they serve.

This program aims to frankly discuss the socio-political challenges to diversity today and to offer HR professionals guidance as to how to perform their role as a diversity champion while recognizing the different emotions and viewpoints within their workforce and even within themselves.

Attendees Will Take Away:

  • An overview of recent socio-political events affecting the diversity discussion in society and in the workplace;
  • Strategies for recognizing and overcoming personal biases; and
  • Techniques to promote empathy and transcend biases to become a more effective champion of diversity in your workplace.
