Mid-Year Employment Law Checkup
Employers are faced with a constant bombardment of new laws and case law developments, and reviewing them are important in helping employers plan for 2017 and beyond. Now is a great time for employers to review and update their employment practices. This seminar will focus on what employers need to know to keep pace with these changes not only to ensure compliance but reduce risks of costly employment claims.
Presented by Todd Scherwin, Fisher Phillips
Todd Scherwin is managing partner of the Los Angeles office. His litigation practice involves representing employers in various aspects of labor and employment law, including Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) actions and class actions, employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, trade secret protection, and administrative proceedings.
Todd also regularly counsels employers on dealing with difficult issues with their workforce including state and federal leave laws and wage-hour laws.
Todd has defended employers in civil litigation in state and federal court, including the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Todd has also defended employers before federal and state administrative agencies including the Department of Labor, the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE), and the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board (CUIAB). He regularly provides human resource training to clients and speaks to employers and employer groups regarding labor and employment issues.
