Privacy rights in the workplace are rarely absolute, and where the law draws the line is not always clear. Medical marijuana, employee compensation information, personnel files, video and audio surveillance, drug testing, GPS tracking and e-mail and Internet monitoring all present privacy issues.

Bethanie Barnes, Fisher & Phillips
Bethanie Barnes is an associate in the Los Angeles office. Her practice includes counseling and defending employers in all areas of labor and employment law. While in law school, Bethanie was the Executive Symposium Editor of the Emory International Law Review, and her student Comment was selected for publication in the law review. She also served as an extern for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and a judicial intern for the Honorable Kimberly Esmond Adams.
This program has been approved for 1.0 Professional Development Credits (PDCs), towards SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP, through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

There will be a 50% administration fee for any cancellations. If you need to cancel, we must receive it in writing (email or fax) 2 business days prior to the event during normal business hours. Refunds will not be given to no-shows. Credits will not be issued for use towards future PIHRA events.
