There are costly mistakes to avoid when working with compensation structures and policies. Our speaker, Laura Conover, will present her top 10 compensation mistakes to avoid, based upon over 20 years’ experience working with many types and sizes of organizations. Laura will take each of the top 10 mistakes, and after discussing the pitfalls with each, will describe the best practices approach with each topic. This presentation will touch on foundational compensation subjects such as market pay data, job descriptions, variable pay plans, and performance management.

Laura Conover, Conover Consulting, Inc.
Ms. Conover has assisted well over 200 organizations with employee pay issues in over 20 years as a compensation professional. She has consulted with numerous for-profit companies in a wide variety of industries, as well as non-profit organizations. Ms. Conover’s consulting career has included litigation support where she testified in high stakes employment matters. She has been an adjunct professor in the Graduate Management Program at Azusa Pacific University, and has been the featured speaker at business and human resources events, including Professionals in Human Resources Association chapter meetings.
