Accounting is SOOO BOORING! How to Spice It Up! 

 

What is HR role in the accounting/budgeting/planning/forecasting process? What are “official’ or “company” financial statements and why aren't they necessarily used to manage the company. How do they differ. Can you use company financial statements for budgeting? How do all the financial statements interact with each other? How KPI’s help with the budgeting process. What’s the difference between a “budget”, a “plan” and a “forecast”? Is on more useful than another?

You will learn the following:

  • What is the difference between Company financial statements and operating financial statements?
  • How do the various financial statements inter-relate?
  • What part does KPI’s play in making sense of management financial statements and simplify the budgeting process?

Andy, began his financial background while studying accounting at the University of Utah. After graduating, he moved to Southern California and began his career at the then largest accounting firm, Arthur Andersen & Co. From Arthur Andersen, Andy moved on to work at companies such as: Foster Farms, Con-Way Western Express, and A-Z Bus Sales. Over the last 30+ years, 25 of which as the Chief Financial Officer, His career has spanned from working on small startup companies to very large companies with multiple locations and branches. There will be a 50% administration fee for any cancellations. If you need to cancel, we must receive it in writing (email or fax) 2 business days prior to the event during normal business hours. Refunds will not be given to no-shows. Credits will not be issued for use towards future PIHRA events.
