Effective Employee Orientations 

 

Come join us in a discussion about current trends in new employee orientations. We will review the challenges in dealing with employee behavior, and the key ingredients for a memorable new employee orientation. What is the WOW factor? How can leaders/presenters make a difference for new employees? The “I D.A.R.E. you to be different” will be shared.

You will learn the following:

  1. Assist participants in understanding effective methods.
  2. Analyze current practices.
  3. Evaluate how to utilize teammates assigned to participate as speakers.
  4. Understand the mindset of those attending new employee orientation for the first time.
  5. Identify strategies for dealing with challenging behavior. 

 

Speaker 

Melinda Sewer Muganzo

Our presenter will be Melinda Sewer Muganzo, TEdxRiverside speaker, motivational speaker, leadership trainer, coach and educator. Melinda received a Bachelor of Science degree in Office Administration from Oakwood College in 1984 and a Master of Business Administration from Florida Metro University in 1992. Additionally, she received a certificate in Executive Management from Claremont Graduate University. She is an Instructor at UEI College in Riverside for the Business Office Administration program. She is an Affiliate Leader-ship Instructor for Flex Ed, a comprehensive healthcare education company. Recently, she served as Faculty at Everest College teaching courses in Business. She spent 15 years working for Loma Linda University Medical Center in the Human Resource Management department in major leadership roles. facilitating training workshops for the past fifteen years.

This program has been approved for 1.25 Professional Development Credits (PDCs), towards SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP, through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

 

 

This program has been approved for 1.25 HR (General) recertification credit hours through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). For more information about certification or recertification, please visit the HR Certification Institute homepage at www.hrci.org.

Cancellation Policy 

There will be a 50% administration fee for any cancellations. If you need to cancel, we must receive it in writing (email or fax) 2 business days prior to the event during normal business hours. Refunds will not be given to no-shows. Credits will not be issued for use towards future PIHRA events. Cancellation requests can be sent via email to programs@pihra.org or fax to 310-416-9055.
