Leaders and HR/OD professionals are always talking about employee engagement and how it relates to productivity, execution and retention. However, most organizations miss the boat when it comes to engagement because they focus on the wrong things. It's not about the Gallup Q12 or benefits or nap pods or free food. It's about how well the employee's core needs are met by their role, the organization and their boss. If all three are not aligned, then dissatisfaction and disengagement are the result.

But, how do employees know what their real core needs are and what truly engages them? How do they make effective career choices based not on what they think will satisfy them but on the patterns of their personal and professional experiences have shown them work in practice? How do employees empower themselves to creatively get their needs met when their current situation is not ideal? How do managers learn and use the core needs of the individuals on their teams to create engagement, productivity, and satisfaction that transcends the challenges facing the organization

In this interactive session, you'll learn how to help your organization (or client) get real clarity about core needs and how to create an empowering strategy that harnesses the engagement of each individual. Jonathan E. 'Jeb' Bates, MSOD, PCC

 

Jeb is an executive coach and leadership development consultant working with top leaders, senior professionals and high-performance teams to build their capabilities, expand their impact and deliver results. With experience in the technology, healthcare, financial services, life sciences, marketing/media, consumer products and higher education sectors, Jeb provides his expertise, guidance, facilitation, and coaching skills to large and small client organizations and individual professionals.

Prior to building his consulting/coaching practice, Jeb’s professional career has included positions at IBM Corporation, Lotus Development Corporation, Productivity Point International, Businessland Inc., Boston University and the University of New Hampshire. Jeb is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation. He is also certified in Predictive Index® (PI), 360° assessments from Center for Creative Leadership, Korn Ferry Voices 360™ and Leadership Circle, Lominger Leadership Architect™ and the Results System™ and The Results Accelerator™.

Jeb is an Adjunct Faculty member at Pepperdine University. Jeb holds a Master of Science in Organization Development (MSOD) from Pepperdine University and a B.S. in Hospitality Administration from the University of New Hampshire.

Cancellation Policy (Guest/Nonmember Registrations)  

There will be a 50% administration fee for any cancellations. If you need to cancel, we must receive it in writing (email or fax) 2 business days prior to the event during normal business hours. Refunds will not be given to no-shows. Credits will not be issued for use towards future PIHRA events.
